Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris J. Evans.

Hi Chris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers. 
I grew up in Laguna Beach, CA, and was raised by two incredibly talented artists. 

My mother, through the 1980s, achieved worldwide fame as a couture wedding dress designer, making gowns for Patti Springsteen, Tia Carrera, Kris Jenner, and many more. 

My father a celebrated artist and philosopher. 

Creativity is in my bones, and my siblings and I were immersed in a life filled with art and beauty. One where we saw art not only as a career but a way to contribute to the beauty in the world. 

I first began photography shooting fashion, sports and editorial throughout LA in the early 2000’s. 

In 2010, my wife and oldest daughter and I relocated to Maui, and that’s where I fell into weddings. It was the perfect place to hone my craft with a non-stop year-round wedding market. 

Within 3 years, I was named the top wedding photographer in Hawaii-by-Hawaii magazine and was doing over 100 weddings a year. 

In March 2020, we decided it was time to come home to CA, so we packed up and moved back two weeks before the Covid shutdowns! My whole plan of hitting the ground running and networking hit a bit of speed bump. 

Utilizing solely social media, I began a massive outreach campaign introducing myself to all the main wedding planners in SoCal. 

Brick by brick, I was able to build my new community, and by 2022, I was named best wedding photographer by California Wedding Day Magazine and backed that up in 2023 as well. 

I now service weddings around the globe and have photographed celebrations in Italy, Spain, Cabo, Hawaii, NYC, Atlanta, and Puerto Rico. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur is never a smooth road. When climbing mountains, there are always obstacles, but to succeed even when it’s two steps backward is to remember it may feel backward, but it’s still moving forward. 

The opportunity to learn from setbacks is the key to success and the single largest factor in determining if you’re gonna make it or not. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in luxury editorial wedding photography. Building on my experience as a fashion photographer, I’m able to photograph couples in such a manner that they feel incredible and look stunning. 

I’m most proud of the fact that I am invited into one of the most special days in people’s lives and trusted to create an iconic body of work for them. 

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Style, grace, and gratitude. 

Style is not only wardrobe but a mentality and a way of seeing the world. 

Grace is kindness and generosity. 

Gratitude is the only attitude.
