ELEMENTS + GALIA LAHAV
THE HAIKU MILL + UPCOUNTRY MAUI
COORDINATOR: ELEMENTS BY KH & CO | H&MU: ERIN SHANNON | FLORALS: PASSION ROOTS | GOWNS: GALIA LAHAV | SUIT: ZARA
“Our love is not a destination but a journey… meet me at Haiku Mill.” With this note, Elements by KH and CO describes the voyage of this bride. Discovered in the rolling, cloud-kissed fields of Maui’s upcountry, the bride’s journey to historic Haiku Mill begins.
Descending into Makawao’s majestic forests, to the bucolic, misty comfort of her dwelling in the woods, a transformation takes place. The resplendent beauty of her long, flowing Galia Lahav dress and fur trim gives way to one of simple elegance; the natural crown that was woven into her chestnut tresses disappears, and her floral bouquet is discarded.
She is ready to greet her love in her purest form. From her abode she continues, floating amongst silent pines, meandering through sun-soaked clearings, onward to her final destination.
The beautifully restored Mill ruins, in the jungles of Haiku, where Old World Europe meets natural Hawaiian splendor. Here, her journey ends and she is reunited with her groom under a canopy of green, bouquet in hand, ready to join him in matrimony and the everlasting embrace of love. A stroll beneath the Mill’s archway is like a trip back in time for the newly formed “ohana.”
